(This War's) Never Over
Gertjan Wijnalda, september 2002

about this song
when i started playing in the band seven minus (called six back then), during the first rehearsal we started playing my songs. a lipstick under a pillow was to be the first, but never over was the first song i've writting specially for a band to play.

based on a two-chord structure (Em / D) jasper was playing at a time, i just went crazy singing and later on at work i wrote down the entire lyrics for the song, added a few chords here and there and changed around my original lyrics and there we are.

(This War's) Never Over
(G.L. Wijnalda)

There ain't no limits to what people can destroy
Just look around you, you see them coming for more
There ain't no limits to what people can believe
They're gonna kill you as if you are a disease

But sometimes we may think about the things that are lost
That simply are beyond repair
Believe we're digital and know it all
We're looking for the things we've lost
Well, they're gone forever

This war's never over
The reasons never change
There's war between religions
We will never see the daylight
Or the people that we love
We will never see the daylight
This war's never over

There ain't no limits to what people can destroy
Their home, love, life, everything that they enjoy
There ain't no limits to what people can survive
But when there's nothing it ain't no use to be alive

So one day we will think about the things that are gone
And regret the things we never did and say
Believe liberal and know it all
We're looking for the things we've lost
But they're gone forever

This war's never over
The reasons never change
There's war between the countries
We will never see the daylight
Or the people that we love
We will never see the daylight
This war's never over

This war's never over
The reason's still the same
There's war between the countries
We will never see the daylight
Or the people that we love
We will never see the daylight
This war's never over

This war's never over
It's never over if the reasons never change
This war's never over

Never over (war will be never over)
